What Should You Do First?
The 3 Step Action Plan in Chapter 1 of your book, C. difficile Treatments & Remedies, will show you the most important things to do first. Below is a summary of the 3 Step Action Plan, along with links to specific remedies, methods and resources that will help you carry out the Action Plan.
Step 1 of the Action Plan is about killing C. diff. bacteria, binding C. diff. toxins and restoring balance to your gut. Step 2 is about starving C. difficile and making your body a hostile environment to prevent the infection from returning later. And Step 3 is about removing C. diff. spores from your home and protecting your family.
For best results, follow all three steps at the same time to attack the infection on multiple fronts. Addressing C. difficile from multiple angles at once is the best way to speed your recovery and keep the infection from coming back again.
You May Need a Better Doctor
Keep in mind that your doctor probably has no training or experience with alternative treatments or with Michelle's methods. Most doctors are forced by the healthcare system, insurance system and legal system into treating their patients in an assembly line fashion, favoring one-size-fits-all "standard protocol" treatments. This very important topic is detailed in Chapter 4 of Michelle's book.
It's crucial to find a new doctor if your current doctor is not giving you the support or providing you the results you need. It's also very important to be proactive and take an active role in your healthcare, as outlined in Chapter 4 and 5 of Michelle's book. Fortunately, Naturopathic Doctors (ND's) and MD's certified in Functional Medicine know much more about alternatives and natural remedies. This website includes Michelle's network of natural doctors who have experience with chronic and difficult infections.
While the methods on this website and inside Michelle's book will help most people, what works best for one person may not work as well for someone else. For the best results, especially with recurring infections, work with a good healthcare professional to customize Michelle's methods to best meet your needs.
We're Here to Support You
If you are new to C. difficile or inexperienced with natural medicine, then you probably feel a bit overwhelmed right now. But have hope - we are here to help and support you every step of the way!
As a reader of Michelle's book, you get email support to answer any infection or product questions you have and phone support regarding your order. This website is full of complementary ebooks, reports, audios, videos and informative e-courses to give you all the tools you need to overcome C. difficile. So please contact us with any questions that you have.
Step 1: Treat the Infection
Step 1 is about killing, removing and displacing C. difficile from your body. Michelle's professional strength antibacterial remedies (Biocidin and Olivirex) kill infecting bacteria, attack biofilms and other C. diff resistance factors, and help your immune system to overpower the infection. These two antibacterial blends are combined with a powerful intestinal toxin binding agent (G.I. Detox+) as part of the CD Herbal Detox Kit.
Step 1 is also about policing your gut and rebuilding your intestinal flora with probiotics. MegaSporeBiotic is an ideal probiotic for restoring and maintaining healthy gut flora. MegaSporeBiotic also contains bacteria shown to both target C. difficile and improve C. diff. outcomes. It stimulates the growth of good gut bacteria and arrives in your intestines at 100% potency. RestorFlora is a special-purpose yeast probiotic that's used when extra gut support is needed. It's specially formulated for extra support for diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, C. difficile-associated diarrhea and gut discomfort.
Step 2: Body and Immune Support
Step 2 is crucial, yet most people overlook it. Treatments and remedies like those in Step 1 help in the short-term, but if you don’t follow up and support your immune system, you can sabotage your recovery. Without Step 2, the infection can easily come back again days, weeks or months after you stop taking your treatments.
Simple carbs and sugar feed infections and also weaken your body's defenses against infections. Sugar creates a powerful one-two punch that hinders your recovery. Be sure to also reduce simple carbohydrates and high sugar levels found in yogurts, fruit juices, bread, potatoes and pastas.
Another important step is to avoid problem foods that cause intestinal inflammation, like dairy and wheat. Add foods that support and bolster your immune system, per your individual food tolerance. See Chapters 17, 18 and 19 in your book for details.
You can also include specific supplements and vitamins to bolster your immune system. And if you've taking antibiotic drugs recently, then take action to reduce and counteract the negative side effects of these drugs. See Chapters 13 and 16 in your book for details.
Step 3: Prevention and Care
Step 3 is about kicking C. diff. bacteria out of your home, protecting your family and getting good medical support. C. diff. spores are very tough and hard to kill and they can live inside your home for many months. In fact, most disinfectants cannot even kill C. diff. spores.
Inside Chapters 20, 21 and 22 of your book, you'll find step-by-step hygiene, cleaning, disinfecting and laundry methods to reduce the risk of C. diff. spreading through your home. Chapters 23 and 24 will show you how to protect others in your home and how to protect yourself if you are a caregiver for an infected person.
As mentioned above, make sure you see a good doctor or other healthcare professional who can support and guide you. Remember that most doctors will discourage you from using any alternative remedies, simply because they have not training or experience with them. See Michelle's network of natural doctors with infection expertise. Many of them do long distance phone consultations. You can also use the doctor search function on www.Naturopathic.org to find a Naturopathic doctor near you or www.FunctionalMedicine.org to find a Functional medical doctor near you.
